CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland Indians begin the 2021 season on the road. However after their first road trip they return home to Cleveland to face the Kansas City Royals.
The Indians will face the Royals at Progressive Field in Cleveland on April 5, 2021.
Good news for Cleveland fans is there will be fans in the stands for the home opener. According to wkyc.com, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced in February that the Indians could have 30% of the stadium’s capacity. This means approximately 10,500 fans could be allowed in the stadium.
The Indians finished the 2020 shortened season 35-25. They proceeded to lose in the American League Wild Card series 2-0 to the New York Yankees.
Manager Terry Francona and the Indians are currently 9-15 in the pre-season.
